In the heart of La Geria, surrounded by the volcanic landscape of the Barranco del Obispo and close to Timanfaya National Park, Bodega Stratvs was born in 2008. A tribute to the work and dedication of generations of winegrowers, with a clear commitment to preserving this tradition.
Canarian interior designer Rafael del Castillo meticulously designed every corner of this innovative winery, achieving complete integration with the landscape thanks to the use of local materials with minimal visual impact, such as volcanic stone, iron, and wood. Five impressive “Estadio” pendant lamps hang from the ceilings of Stratvs – an iconic work by designer Miguel Milá for Santa & Cole, originally conceived for the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Stadium.
The most notable feature of Lanzarote’s climate is its aridity, determined by the island’s low altitude and uniform orography.
Vine cultivation is carried out in pits dug into the volcanic gravel (rofe) in funnel shapes, so that the roots reach fertile soil. The vines are protected from wind and excessive drying by semicircular walls made of volcanic stone, mulched with a layer of volcanic ash that retains ambient moisture. This system allows cultivation in soils that receive very little rainfall throughout the year, only about 150 mm/year.

Lanzarote stands out for its unique cultivation method, which does not allow the use of machinery, meaning all vineyard work is done manually. This makes high planting densities impossible, with a maximum of 3,000 vines per hectare. The training and pruning systems are the island’s traditional ones: low vines with trailing pruning. Vineyard management is entirely manual.
As a result, yields are low but of very high quality, with a distinctive volcanic mineral flavor that is perfectly balanced. This has preserved a high-quality native variety, Malvasía Volcánica, as well as the adaptation of certain other grape varieties.
An Unparalleled Setting
An Unparalleled Setting
Our latitude, privileged climate, trade winds, and the incomparable setting of La Geria prepare the way for our laborers to carry out the earliest grape harvest in Europe. This manual and labor-intensive work turns the harvest into a true art, keeping our winemaking artisanal at its core, preserving traditions year after year. The unique topography of La Geria’s natural landscape does not allow machinery access.
This requires hard work but helps maintain the distinctive essence and character of our wines. We own 60 hectares in the La Geria area, using exclusively century-old vines that, thanks to the deep gerias over volcanic ash, guarantee the freshness of our old vines.
At Bodega Stratvs, we are proud to have Raúl Pérez, an internationally renowned winemaker, twice named Best Winemaker in the World. Recognized for achieving 100 points in the Parker Guide, he is celebrated for his talent in capturing the essence of each vineyard and his deep connection to the land.
Our winemaker Miguel Ángel brings meticulous dedication, the result of his training in oenology and viticulture in Logroño and his experience in wineries in Valladolid. His attention to detail is reflected in every bottle, ensuring the unique quality and personality of our wines.
Taste our local products on the terrace of our shop. A warm and welcoming setting, with views over the gerias landscape and its sunsets, or under the shade of century-old eucalyptus trees. A space featuring a carefully curated selection of pieces by local and international artisans.
The restaurant El Aljibe del Obispo offers traditional cuisine made with local products, such as those from Finca de Uga. Every Sunday, enjoy our brunch experience in a setting surrounded by lush greenery.
