The Canarian interior designer Rafael del Castillo meticulously designed every corner of this innovative winery, achieving total integration into the landscape through the use of materials from the surroundings with minimal visual impact, such as volcanic stone, iron, and wood. Five impressive “Estadio” pendant lamps hang from the ceilings of Stratvs, an iconic work by designer Miguel Milá for Santa & Cole, originally conceived for the Barcelona Olympic Stadium in 1992.
The most significant feature of Lanzarote’s climate is its aridity, determined by the low altitude and homogeneous orography. The practice of vine cultivation is carried out in pits dug in the shape of funnels in the “rofe,” so that the roots find fertile soil. They are protected from the winds and excessive drying by semicircular walls of volcanic stone, cushioned by a layer of volcanic ash that retains ambient moisture. This system allows cultivation in soils that receive very low rainfall throughout the year, only 150 mm/year.

Artisanal method
Artisanal method
Lanzarote stands out for its unique cultivation method, which does not allow the use of machinery, where all tasks are carried out manually, preventing the use of high planting densities that do not exceed 3,000 vines per hectare. The training and conduction systems are the traditional ones of the Island, with low-standing vines and low arms with “rastra” pruning. The vineyard management is completely manual. All this results in low yields but of high quality, with a marked mineral volcanic flavor, perfectly balanced, which has allowed the presence of a high-quality native variety, the Volcanic Malvasia, as well as the adaptation of some vinifera varieties.
Our latitude, privileged climate, trade winds, and the incomparable setting of La Geria prepare the arrival of our laborers for the earliest harvest in Europe. A manual and very laborious job that makes it an art in itself, keeping us artisanal at our core, maintaining traditions and customs year after year. The orography of the unique natural space of La Geria does not allow machinery to access it. This requires hard work, but on the other hand, it helps maintain the essence and character so unique to our wines. We have 60 hectares in the La Geria area. We exclusively use our own century-old vines, which, thanks to the deep pits over volcanic ash, ensure the freshness of our old vines.

At Stratvs, we have the guidance of Raúl Pérez, an internationally renowned winemaker, recognized as one of the best in the world. A title he attributes to collective effort and the richness of the wine regions he works with. He stands out for his innate ability to capture the unique essence of each vineyard and for his connection with the land.
He has a complete education in oenology and viticulture in Logroño, having developed all his previous experience in cooperatives and wineries in Valladolid. Attention to detail is undoubtedly his greatest virtue, something that is clearly reflected in each of our bottles.

The island of Lanzarote is a testament to the transformative power of nature, where the eruptions of the Timanfaya volcano between 1730 and 1736 shaped a spectacular and unique landscape.
The carefully designed architecture of Stratvs reflects a commitment to sustainability and respect for the volcanic environment, using local materials that harmoniously blend with the landscape, laying the foundations for the production of wines with a distinctive character, recognized both nationally and internationally.
